Cornet Technology OS-I Optical Switch

Optical switch used as a protective measure of fiber optic connections.

The intelligent fiber optic switch OS-I protects optical fiber connections in cases of failures occurring within active or passive network components. It ensures optimal conditions for applications.

Immediately after an error has been detected by the OS-I device, it automatically switches the relevant data transmissions to an alternative line within a reaction time of max. 25 ms. This switch constitutes a part of the continuous monitoring and protections system for transmission lines, implemented through the integrated management module.

As the range of supported data rates is between 2 Mbps and 10 Gbps, the OS-I unit serves as a multifunctional switch and can be used with any further developments and applications at the line-end that involve laser units. The device conforms to various related requirements/standards, constituting an optimum, high-performance solution for companies whose main objectives include maximum possible reduction of downtime and data losses.
