Cornet Technology VDOLink-128
The VDOLink®-128 is a less dense version of the VDOLink®-256. A scaleable non-blocked switch it supports NTSC, PAL, and any compliant signal up to 100 MHz. It is packaged in 19" W by 8.75" H rack-mount chassis that holds up to 16 input/output cards. This flexible switch offers a range of switching configurations (for example, switch as few as 8 inputs to 120 outputs, or 64 inputs x 64outputs, or 120 inputs to 8 outputs). The chassis comes in rugged and non-rugged versions making it a fit for typical computer rooms or for environments such as ships and aircraft. Applications include video switching applications such as traffic monitoring, site security, and military video signal management.
For flexibility, versatility, and space efficiency, there is nothing like Cornet Technology’s innovative VDOLink-128 series high-performance video switches. Designed to economically meet a wide variety of composite video and RGB switching require- ments, the VDOLink-128’s high bandwidth capability, wide range of input and output ports, and open control architecture make it a logical choice for applications such as design and production test labs, CCTV video surveillance and security, and intelligent transportation systems. A non-blocking matrix design provides total switching flexibility with one-to-one, one-to-any, or one-to-all input to output connections. This highly flexible switch allows users to configure systems of various sizes (e.g. 8 inputs to 120 outputs, 16 inputs to 112 outputs, 120 inputs to 8 outputs, 64 inputs to 64 outputs, etc.) to meet any small video switching requirement. Superior single-stage crosspoint design, instant switch- ing, unity gain signal calibration, low video distortion and crosstalk, and flat signal response across the entire bandwidth further enhance the switch’s ability to operate in the most demanding situations.
Features
VDOLink-128 supports composite NTSC, PAL, and RGB video and any analog or digital signal up to 10 MHz. The system controller features a real-time clock stored in NVRAM that can be used to enable time of day switching. One line of text and a date/time line are provided within the video frame. Brightness is user selectable. Titling information is stored in the battery-backed NVRAM. Touring and the ability to store and cycle through preset configurations at a preset rate permits users to view a series of images from different cameras or from video sources on any monitor at set times during the day. The VDOLink-128 switch-on-vertical blanking feature provides a clean switch between images eliminating picture roll and image instability when a genlocked video source is used.
Configuration
Up to 16 input or output switching cards along with an internal AC power supply and controller card fit into the VDOLink®-128’s compact 5 RU high (8.75”) 19” rack-mount chassis. Any slot can accept input or output cards. This unparalleled flexibility makes future expansion easy and cost effective. Cards are hot swappable to ensure maximum uptime during service or re-configuration.
Management and Control
The VDOLink’s versatility extends to system control. Whether you have only a few systems within easy arms reach or multiple units located in remote equipment rooms, Cornet Technology offers a control method to fit your needs. SNMP over IP network control allows browser based management from anywhere on a network. Our SNMP MIB (GET, SET and TRAP) allows users to integrate control with existing SNMP management systems. For direct control, CTI offers a VT-100 terminal interface a keypad on the front panel of the unit. The keypad and alphanumeric display can be used to make and break one-to-one connections. Up to 99 co-located units can be daisy-chained for simplified control with RS422 chain-in and out ports. VDOLink-128 supports a wide range of functions from any control method. These functions include: the making and breaking of one-to-one, one-to-many or broadcast connections, clearing NVRAM, the listing of all connected ports, the ability to set and get the gain for each signal, the listing of all active video input streams that experience loss of signal, the sending of alarms to control platform, and the ability to boot from the EPROM. By holding crosspoint states in NVRAM, restoration after power failures is automatically implemented.
