Cornet Technology VDOLink-256

Used in high bandwidth applications the VDOLink® is capable of switching up to 256 inputs and 256 outputs. It supports RGB/composite monitors, NTSC and PAL.

VDOLink 256 is part of Cornet Technology’s exciting line of modular high-bandwidth video switches and is targeted at large scale CCTV surveillance applications. An extremely dense switch, the VDOLink 256 allows viewers to control up to 1024 inputs (cameras, VCRs, NTSC video sources) and 256 outputs (supporting monitors, video recorders, and other NTSC video devices) using a single system without changing chassis configuration. Integration with multiple keyboards enables VDOLink® users to switch among multiple video feeds from various sources and provides easy PTZ camera control for multiple workstations both locally and remotely located.

Switch Architecture
The basic configuration for a VDOLink 256 consists of a 9 U rackmount chassis (15.75” high x 19” wide x 16” deep) that supports up to 256 inputs by 256 outputs. One universal, external switching-mode power supply, that fits into a single 3U (5.25”) chassis, powers a fully populated VDOLink. VDOLink can be used to switch composite video such as NTSC video (6 MHz bandwidth) as well as RGB signals found in VGA and SVGA computer connectors and professional video broadcast applications.

Features
VDOLink switches have a non-blocking matrix design with no restrictions meaning the VDOLink 256 can have as few as16 inputs and as many as 256 outputs or vice versa. Since port cards have either 16 input ports or output ports, the smallest switch available is a 16x16 port switch. However, as the VDOLink product line is both modular and scalable, users need only purchase the number of cards required for their application.

Chassis
The VDOLink 256 chassis fits into a standard 19” rack. Each unit has a midplane design with input cards mounted in the front and output cards mounted in the rear. The primary controller card is front-mounted and the second optional redundant card is mounted from the rear.
