The Celero CVME features either two or four Freescale PowerPC MPC7448 @ 1.6 GHz processors in VME VXS (VITA-41, VME Switched Standard) 6U form factor. Each processor has an AltiVec™ vector-processing engine that is capable of optimizing the performance of mathematically intensive operations. Each processor has separate memory bank architecture, including 1 MB on-processor L2 Cache, 256 MB DDR 2 SDRAM, and 32 MB Flash. The board has two 64-bit PMC or XMC (VITA-42, Switched Mezzanine Card) sites for flexible I/O expansion, two RS-232/422/485 configurable serial ports, two RS-232 serial ports, and a 10/100/1000 Base-T Gigibit Ethernet port. The four processors are connected with a PCI-X bus, running at 64-bit/133 MHz. In addition, the four processors and the PMC or XMC I/O expansion sites are linked with a 2.5 GHz PCI Express switched fabric interface.
